Give blood

An increase in people getting tattoos is being blamed for a drop in new blood donors in England and Wales.

Ink for Life is an awareness campaign to inform people that you can still give blood 4 months after getting tattooed. We start by asking tattoo artist and studios around the UK to help raise awareness as well as promoting themselves, by letting them design a tattoo stencil with our message.

We use those stencils as print.

Ink for Life will reach out to influential tattoo artists on social media. They can then help raise awareness among their followers.

We’ll ask people to wear fake tattoos with our message on their bodies, to grab people’s attention on the beach, during sport events, festivals and other occasions.

Most tattoo studios in the UK organises Flash Days, where you can get a unique tattoo for a cheaper price. People can come in and give blood just before they get their tattoo made. By doing so, they’ll get a discount.

The tattoo studios will send you a text message 4 months after you got your tattoo, to remind you that you can now donate blood.

The tattoo print will be showcased at an exhibition in London. We’ll send a special invite to people who’ve survived and are alive today because of blood transfusions.
